SHSP works with children from pre-school to secondary school age.
Assessment and intervention in the following areas are available:
LANGUAGE - Children who have with difficulty communicating, affecting how they express themselves and understand others.
SPEECH - Children who have difficulty with their speech clarity.
LITERACY and PRE-LITERACY - Children who are finding it hard to learn to read and spell.
SOCIAL COMMUNICATION - Children who have difficulty using language to interact with others.
FLUENCY - Children who stutter or finds it hard to speak fluently.
AAC - Non- or minimally speaking children who communicate through alternative or augmentative communication (AAC), for example, by signing or using a speech generating device.
Additionally:
SUPERVISION and MENTORING - for early-career speech pathologists.
GROUP PROGRAMS - training for parents/carers, educators and the community; and group program for pre-school and school-aged children.
